If you have the baby on your back for safety reasons you need a second person to help get them positioned when on and help you take them off. This is different from my hiking backpack, which is a frame that I feel comfortable using with just one person. Forward facing works well with one person, however there is no way to adjust the height of the front, which is fine if baby is facing in, but facing out if the child is not tall enough their face is in the fabric area or you have to somehow boost them up with a towel or something where they sit.This tends to work better as just a seat on women, with men (no hips) it needs to be tighter. As a carrier is fine for both.Nice construction and does not take up a lot of space (for packing).
