Review on πŸ“¦ 120W 18V Portable Solar Panel with USB QC 3.0, Typc C Output | Off Grid Emergency Power Supply | Compatible with Rockpals/Jackery Solar Generator Power Station | RV Camping Outdoor Backup – PAXCESS by Bobby Plymell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A little overrated? The maximum output power is 72W. NOT 120

Updated Rating: I am updating my rating from 3 to 4 stars. This is due to additional comparisons to other panels and additional testing/use. In addition, we are approaching summer, the power is increasing a little more. I have a RockPals 100 watt panel. The Rockpals are the same size and consist of 4 panels. Rockpal's power output is about 5-10 watts less than this Paxcess. Rockpals also cost more money. The best thing about Rockpals is the number of connectors and I can connect it in parallel or in series with other panels. Original review: I used this to charge my 300 watt solar generator/battery. I was able to charge the solar generator/battery with 110W input with both USB-C (40W) and AC adapter (62W). With the plug and USB-C, I was able to max out at around 72W. That is only 60% of the nominal/advertising performance. I was expecting around 80-85w in direct sunlight from a 120w portal panel. At best, this should be specified as 100 watts. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I think it should be advertised as 100w and not 120w. Pros: I love the fact that it has most of the common ports, but not as many as the others. - Has USB-C charging (18W max) - 19V output, most others are 13V plugs or so on plugs (MC4) - 40% loss based on 120W rating - a bit heavy if considering they are mainly used for camping - USB C only has 18W maximum (1.3A at 24V, 2A at 9V, 3.6 and at 5V) - Others produce about the same power at 100 W rated power, lighter, with more connectors, but more expensive.

Pros
  • Solar and Wind Power
Cons
  • Weight
