Review on Medium Weight Backpacking Adventures Throughout Cushioning by Jason Przystup

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Pretty good quality, no lining for hiking socks and runs small

While I wasn't impressed with Ausangate's other style of hiking sock, this one is pretty good. Super soft on the inside, looks well made on the outside. Tightly woven / no loose threads on the outside to hold onto, there were a few inside but nothing that could be repaired with a few snips. They don't really have much cushioning so I'm not sure I would call them "hiking socks". I would say that this is something between a "lightweight pillow" and a "darn tough pillow". But they feel warm for their weight (they're pretty thin) and I didn't have any breathability issues. I will say that I am either the wrong size or they are quite small. I bought XL for my fiancee who wears a size 13 and what I received was just a bit longer than the averages I bought for myself (size 7 for women, the average fits perfectly, a little big but that's why I ordered male, for layering) and no wider than what I could tell when I tried them on. For the price I got them (under $10) they are a bargain!

Pros
  • Outdoor wear
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
