The north wind was strong enough to keep up with the snow. I couldn't go to the local outdoor store without getting cold, so I used the power of Revain Prime to have that delivered to me for the night. This is a thin polar fleece style balaclava - warm, light and more breathable than wool (you don't get as much condensation forming/freezing from your breath). It's quite large - it still works great for me, but I think it will fit almost any big fat head. The Heatmax pockets over the ears are just a bonus in my opinion. You get two with the balaclava, but they're single use only and not very cheap. However, if you're outside all day (hunting, building, etc.) I can see how they can become a habit.
