Ever since I was little, I've always gotten more bug bites than anyone else. There's something in my blood that attracts her. While everyone else has literally around 4 bites, I'd be closer to 10 or 15. Although I love being outside at night and gazing at the stars, I rarely did so as my body reacts poorly to bites. That was until I found this! Now that we've redone our backyard, I decided to look for bug traps. I've searched tons of different types. The ones I found were large and bulky and you had to worry about being easily electrocuted while cleaning, while others were smaller but didn't do much. Reviews. I'm so glad I did! He strikes and the flying insects have not grown. I was a little worried about the smaller spacing between the grid lines, but it worked well with larger mosquitoes and moths as well. There is a tray at the bottom that slides out easily for cleaning. They recommend putting it on about 20 or 30 minutes before going outside so it can clear most of the area first. My only small gripe is that there is no on/off switch so you have to plug it in every time you want to use it. So hanging it outside when not in use will just leave the plug dangling, with the metal pins exposed, if it rains or whatever, so I'm not sure if that will cause any damage later on. To avoid that, I just have to put it on and take it off every time I use it. It's quite noisy when it kills a bug and sometimes emits a small spark, so keep it out of the reach of children and pets. I personally have to put my dog away because the loud bang drives him crazy so he tries to jump and grab it. I don't mind noise because it lets me know it's working. Also, some dead bugs will be shocked and won't end up in the tray. So if you have it on your desk or something, expect small dead or half-dead bugs to be around. This is a really great product and I definitely recommend it. I have one near my patio and am actually considering buying a second one to put on the property next to my grill and fire pit.
