This is a plastic backed paper tablecloth as described. Condensation on glasses, small splashes and the occasional ice cube all take a toll on it, but the plastic helps hold it together and protects the surface underneath. I can't imagine it was ever intended for more than one use, unless it was on a gift table or used for something other than food and drink. It's "pink" which I don't think is as dark as "magenta". It was exactly what I expected and the price was great!
