I love hiking in the off season with that cool fresh air. But nights can be bitter. I bought these to keep my toes warm while hiking at night. They feel warm enough to achieve this with a good profile that keeps them from drying out. I'll let you know if things go differently. I usually wear size 7 for women or size 5 for big kids. I followed the advice of other reviews and appreciated it. Kids 6 fits well (when hair is small), but Kids 7 leaves room for thick socks. I keep 7s for myself. I definitely recommend increasing the size of at least one.
