Review on ImpressArt Swirl Metal Design Stamp by Lori Aguirre

quite easy to use for beginners; works well with copper blanks

I'm just starting out with metal stamping and have bought quite a few different dies. I prefer design over letters and numbers and thought this swirl would work for the many different projects I had planned. Brass head. I glue the blanks to the bench block while stamping (with masking tape). After that I sometimes retouch the prints with black gilding paste. In any case, my setup worked very well with this stamp. It's harder to get right than a simple circle, but easier than the sun, flowers, etc. With a little practice, I managed to get it down to a stroke or two, to make a good impression. I wasn't good to begin with, so if you're thinking about stamping something expensive like sterling and you're a beginner, I highly recommend practicing with copper or brass first. Please note this should be used with non-ferrous metals (ie not iron or steel; if you read the full product description including the information at the bottom of the page you will see a list of suitable metals). I'll admit I've never attempted to stamp anything thicker or harder than 24 gauge copper, but this is the metal I'll plan most of my future work with and this die is pretty good for copper.
