Orbital Tracker Best in GPS, Finder and Accessories

Your wallet is very important to you, otherwise you wouldn't be carrying it with you. It contains a lot of your personal information and ID and possibly money, keys, credit cards or many other valuables that you don't want to lose. This is an overview of this tracking/location map used with Android OS (v11) to locate it if lost. If you are an iOS user your experience may be different, or even if you use a different Android device, although reading other reviews for the latest operating system these observations seem to be general. For definitions tracking = the ability to locate your missing item (usually your wallet due to the credit card size of these maps) within a general geographic area. Location = being able to actually FIND your wallet by sound once you know its general location (within Bluetooth range - typically 10-20ft). Depending on the circumstances in which you lost/left your wallet, one feature may be more important than another. These maps are designed to be used with any device that has a Bluetooth, cellular and internet connection and all have an associated app (Android or iOS). Rated especially for me, with my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra), 1-10 rated features, design, app, tracking, location and notifications. Credit card type tracker - it fits where a credit card fits. Rechargeable with a proprietary USB clip charger, Orbit says it takes about 20 minutes to fully charge. The first charge just showed a flashing red light on the card, with no change after an hour, but connecting the card (finally and required a bluetooth reset) showed 100% charge. The charge is reported to last "up to" 3 months, and a replacement charger is available on their website for less than $10. No subscription required - device works as is and as purchased. While Orbit does advertise OrbitNet's crowdfunding (which helps find your map if it leaves its "last" spot on the map due to other Orbit users' devices), the odds aren't as great as OrbitNet's crowdfunding feature Tile - although only three cards they tested - Orbit, Pebblebee and Tile all advertise the feature. Like Tile and Pebblebee, it also promotes working with Alexa. The price of other devices is less than $40. Pros - Easy to use app with the added benefit that the battery level can be viewed in the app (similar to the Innway app). In fact, this app bears more than a striking resemblance to the Innway app, which leads me to believe they are from the same developer. Instead of a "Do Not Disturb" timer, the Orbit app lets you set "safe zones" where the disconnect alarm doesn't sound at all. It also has (unlike Innway) an alarm time delay feature (between 5 and 30 seconds) to prevent false alarms when Bluetooth is disconnected (not always 100% reliable so you might still get early morning calls). This allows you to choose ringtones for both the phone and the card, limited to three for the card, but the phone will use your phone's ringtone. Of all the cards tested (Tile, Safedome, Innway, Pebblebee and Orbit) this one, Pebblebee and Innway, is actually - reliably - functional for all 3 advertised features - location, tracking and alerts. Cons - the card has an internal speaker. and has a location feature - and you can customize the ringtone. However, like the Innway and Pebblebee, you can't adjust the volume, although the Orbit's ringer seems to be a bit louder than the Innway's, about the same as the Pebblebee's. Someone with normal hearing could locate it a few feet away, but I found it could be heard (only) from about 10-20 feet away in a quiet room. Through Alexa, you can ask "Orbit to find my wallet" and it will dutifully call - if you've set up the keyword as "wallet," although you can change it to any of the 10 other categories, and vice versa, you can They "Ask Orbit to find my phone" and I guarantee you'll hear it. One millimeter thicker than a real credit card. Sturdy and advertised as waterproof, although I wouldn't dare put it in water with the speaker terminals open Addendum : 9/10 for functionality Not as feature rich as the Tile app but simple and functional with the added bonus of a battery indicator Another plus is the ability to show street, satellite or hybrid views on the map ( looks like google) - a useful feature if you lost your wallet somewhere outside of a civilized place, such as in the woods behind your house, it also has a visual proximity indicator for de n Location, useful when your device voice is too far away to hear the map speaker and could potentially be within range for you to hear it. Tracking: 10/10 - Excellent GPS tracking with Google and like other Bluetooth trackers only records the last location of your map and phone together. It has the added benefit over other maps (with the exception of the Tile and Pebblebee) that there is a user network to help with location if it goes out of the "last seen" area, although this requires the Orbit user to have an active one Device wears and is within Bluetooth range, as is the case with the Tile and Pebblebee. Location: 6/10 - The map has a speaker with adjustable ringtones, but again the range is limited as they are in the same room or close by. Warnings: 10/10 - Actually runs in the background and works 100% of the time. The "Call my phone" function worked every time (by pressing the button on the card), is loud and works even when your phone's volume is muted. The disconnect alarm worked when the phone and card were about 50 feet apart (Bluetooth lost) and there was a loud beep with minimal false alarms (a few more, but the overall connection seems solid and reliable) and works again even with the phone volume on . The new Best of Breed card is now in my wallet. The main limitation is the 3 month charge time, but it remains to be seen how severe the limitation actually is and the card will warn you on your phone when the battery needs charging. Orbit, Pebblebee, and Innway are recommended, with Orbit including slightly more features, Innway reportedly having longer battery life, and Pebblebee being less likely to give you a false split alert.

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
