Review on Motherboard ASRock B550M STEEL LEGEND by Micha Kochaski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I thought it would be better, but overall not bad.

Good cooling for the cost, however there are drawbacks as well: 1) The majority of the case fan connectors are on the bottom. Who made such a judgment call? Without adapters, it is impossible to connect the fans on top of the case and the portion from the front panel. 2) Older Nvidia graphics cards are not compatible with the mother. I'm not sure of the precise list because I didn't see anyone mention this subject. There is just no image with the gtx 770, therefore I planned to use the outdated asus gtx 770 till video card costs dropped to the ones that were advised. I couldn't figure out the issue, and even Asrock support couldn't provide a satisfactory response. I had the chance to check with r7 240 a month later, and I was able to understand everything. The picture emerged when the video card was changed. This does not appear to be a backwards compatibility problem. r7 240, which was produced in the same year as the gtx 770 and also has PCIe 3.0. 3. Obviously a questionable disadvantage, but accessing the pcie latch is challenging. The processor's video card and tower hardly have any room to spare.

Pros
  • Many sata connectors, reasonable price, and good cooling. PCI 4.0.
Cons
  • Poor 4pin layout for case fans; unable to handle earlier rival graphics cards (such as the ASUS gtx 770); and difficulty accessing the pcie latch.
