HOSES TOO LONG: Engines & Engine Parts

---- UPDATE ---- So I got a reply from Mishimoto commenting on my review claiming they heard first that the hoses too long and they were "SHOCKED". Total and complete BS. Just look at the other reviews and you'll find that the hoses are too long, to which Mishimoto replies that he's never heard of this problem. This is a KNOWN and RECOGNIZED problem with these hoses. I contacted Mishimoto before updating my review to give them an opportunity to fix things. They completely ignored the fact that they recognized the problem and simply offered to send me replacement clamps (which I had already replaced with MUCH better ones). I will never buy from Mishimoto again, nor do I advise against it. I'm embarrassed to even have them on my car. --------- Original Review Below --------- The ends of the Y-pipe hoses are too long - both on the intercooler side and on the turbo side. I cut the grooves which helped a lot - see picture. The supplied hose clamps are scrap and not even round - see picture. One broke, barely touched - see photo. The bypass valve hose clamps don't even fit. Luckily I was able to buy silicone clamps within walking distance from my house. If you buy individual hose clamps (which you must do!) make sure you don't buy standard worm gear hose clamps. The holes will dig and eat into your silicone tubing. These should be T-bolt clamps, padded worm gears, or stamped worm gears (no holes). Having fixed the issues with the hoses they appear to be doing well and will last a long time. You look cool! For the record, I use a stock intercooler on my 2005 Saab 9-2x (identical to Subaru WRX for those who don't know). I bought this primarily to simplify the installation of the intercooler.
