Description of Magnetic Oil Drain Plug Bolt With Gasket Washer Seal Included - PitVisit Reusable Aluminum Plug (M14 X 1.5, Silver) For Optimal Engine Maintenance

PROTECT YOUR ENGINE - By removing the metallic particles from cycling back through your engine (now adhering to the magenet of the drain plug), the oil will flow more effortlessly through your engine. In turn, you will increase the lifespan and health of your engine. Keep a careful eye on your drain plug, as a heavy amount of metals is an indication your engine may need to be checked. Speak with a mechanic before the problem becomes serious and expensive to fix!. EASY INSTALL - Use PitVisit's magnetic oil drain plug instead of regular drain plugs to remove unwanted metal debris and small metallic particles from cycling back into your engine. PitVisit's magnetic oil drain plug will decrease the chance of oil oxidation, since the metallic particles that contribute to the process of oxidation will adhere to the attached magnet. REUSABLE - Made with high quality aluminum and a strong magnet, just clean off the particles on the magnet and you can reuse the drain plugs during routine maintenance oil changes. This will extend the life of your oil filter and keep your engine oil flowing smoothly. ENGINE HEALTH - Trying to figure out what is wrong with your vehicle? You can identify what is harming your engine by taking samples from the particles that have adhered to the magnet. MULTIPLE SIZES AND COLORS AVAILABLE - Find out which size you need to replace your oil drain plug and upgrade to PitvVisit's magnetic style drain plug. We have multiple sizes and easy to see color options available compatible with Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Ford, Subaru, Nissan, and many more.

Type of review

I have two BMWs that use M12x1.5 oil pan drain bolts: an E46 and an F30. I do all my own service on these vehicles. I remove these bolts with a 3/8 ratchet, not an impact gun, and yes, I tighten these bolts using a click torque wrench to the correct spec of 18 ft-lbs.During my oil change this morning on the F30 diesel, all was going well at first. I removed the bolt, drained the oil, and wiped off the tiniest bit of stuff from the bolt magnet. I changed the plug washer, threaded the bolt back…

Pros
  • Works great on my ‘11 GSXR750.Installed 3 months ago and no leaks.
Cons
  • Says it would fit my vehicle and it didn't

Aluminum Threads Stripped

This drain plug torqued on fine the first time I used it on my 07 Tacoma 4.0. But that next oil change when I went to torque it back on the threads stripped. Luckily I stopped before the whole thing sheared off, and it didn't damage the threads on my oil drain pan. They obviously used cheap aluminum. Luckily I still had my old drain plug laying around just in case.

Pros
  • Great product at a great price .
Cons
  • The plug may not come with clear instructions, leading to confusion and difficulty during installation

Practical and Attractive

Shipment arrived quickly and was as advertised. I like having a spot of color on the oil drain pan and the magnet is good insurance for trapping any stray metal particles in the oil IMHO.

Pros
  • well made and matched description of add
Cons
  • The gasket washer seal included may not fit properly, causing it to fall off during installation or while driving

Nice Plug. Not so nice washer.

Installed in my 2018 Nissan Altima. I used the plug with an OEM Gasket Washer. The Gasket Washer which comes with it did not give me confidence, when you compare it to the OEM washer. A pack of 10 OEM washers cost me $5.99.

Pros
  • Works
Cons
  • The magnet could potentially weaken over time, making it less effective at capturing debris and particles

This plug works great!

Sent the right part for the job. Make sure you know what thread size fits your vehicle. Before purchasing this oil drain plug. Got this drain plug for a F-250 which holds 15 quarts of oil and this oil drain plug is not leaking at all.

Pros
  • Love it!
Cons
  • The plug's silver finish may not match the aesthetic of some engine compartments, making it stand out in an unpleasant way

Will break off into your oil pan

Put this thing in and took it out in the same day to remove some excess oil. The thing is only half the bolt came out while the other half had somehow broken off into the oil pan in under 10 miles of riding. Really fun to fish it out took about 2 hours.

Pros
  • Replaced my original torx head plug with this one. Magnetic tip.
Cons
  • Damaged upon delivery.

Cheap and does the job

Threads are sharp and weak, do not over-tighten! The threads have no bullet nose so they cross-thread easily. 3 stars considering how cheap it was.If you want to save some money buy a neodymium magnet and JB weld it to your OE drain bolt.

Pros
  • Picks up the metal shavings pretty good. So far so good on the 2017 chevy ss sedan
Cons
  • Magnet was broken before i even installed it. But it fit my bike really well and looks nice

STAY AWAY! best in my review

Almost dystroyed my brand new transmission ! , locked up my 3rd gear ,I removed the bolt to find out that the entire magnet broke off inside the trans case ,god was on my side because I eventually managed to fish the maganet out with some modified nose tweezers smh , STAY AWAY

Pros
  • It’s the correct thread and it has a magnet.
Cons
  • Its aluminum material may not be as durable as other materials commonly used for drain plugs, leading to bending and breaking

Great fit/product for my opinion

Beautiful and fits like a glove. Sizing is spot on and no leakage. Will update if anything goes wrong during the ride. 14mm bolt head threw me off at first but it was the right size threading.

Pros
  • Haven’t installed it yet but it looks to be very high quality. Waiting for my next oil change
Cons
  • This was a bummer. The part looked nice, but it was Waaaaaaay not the right size for my motorcycle.

Perfect fit for my VW Jetta 2.5L engine!

Magnet works. Fit perfect on my VW Jetta 2.5L engine. No leaks. Highly recommend. Will update with photo after 7,500 miles with a fully synthetic oil.

Pros
  • Fit perfect for a Chinese 125cc or 110cc.
Cons
  • May not fit all types of vehicles and engine models, limiting its versatility

Absolute piece of garbage

WASTE OF MONEY Very lightweight aluminum. The threads on mine arrived all marred up. Not worth risking crossthreading my oil pan with this junk. Not worth the hassle of sending back. 8 dollar lesson. Japan parts not China parts. This is absolute junk. Save your money

Pros
  • Nice. Plug for cash
Cons
  • Second Oil Change after Use and This was the Result, Bolt Hollow, not Solid; Quality Unreliable

Bad customer service

The seller falsely claimed that the part would fit my particular motorcycle (2004 gsxr 1000), unfortunately it didn’t.Now I have to deal with the inconvenience of returning and re-ordering. Get your customer service correct.

Pros
  • Works good!
Cons
  • The plug's small size may make it difficult to handle and install, especially for those with larger hands

UPDATE: KUDOS to PIT VISIT! Today, unsolicited, I received an apology letter (see second image) and a replacement drain plug which has been updated based on my original feedback. The new plug now has a higher quality crush washer that appears to match the OE crush washer in diameter and thickness. The difference from the initial plug received is noticeable and looks more like I had expected. THIS is what good service looks like. Bad things can happen to the best companies and what sets one…

Pros
  • Should've gone with team red though, to match Toyota
Cons
  • If not installed properly, it may cause leaks in the engine and damage other components

Not the type of stripper I'd pay for hahaha

It was horrible, didn't even get it half way in before it stripped itself out, luckily from what I can tell it hasn't ruined my oil pan, about to go check it in a few mins after the test drive cools down. I'm gonna be furious if this thing cost me the cost of a oil pan and gasket and my time. someone is gonna get a kidney punch lol. hahaha.

Pros
  • Good plug
Cons
  • The magnetic feature could potentially interfere with other electrical systems in the engine, leading to malfunction and damage

Confirmed Fit for 2015 Tacoma.

Fits on my 2015 Tacoma. Installed easily with no issues. This is my first oil change using it so I'll revise it on my next oil change. The little magnet seems strong enough to pull out metal particles. So far so good. - Update on first oil change with it. Looks like it pulled out some very fine metal particles. so it seems like it's doing its job.

Pros
  • Used for 2015 WRX. Glad I got it because I stripped my old one getting it off.
Cons
  • Doesn't fit 2011 forester...

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It does fit a 2011 Chevy Cruze LT

It fit the oil pan my 2011 Chevy Cruze LT with no issues. I’m guessing the magnetic feature is working. Won’t know till I do my next oil change, but on second thought I hope I don’t see metal debris on the magnet, that would actually be a bad thing. Lol!

Pros
  • Can't wait to see if it pulls anything out of my drain pan. Here's hoping it doesn't!
Cons
  • Too light weight. Had dealer service oil change requested to us new plug and it broke on install
