The written instructions on the front were great. Don't pay attention to the back of the page; There is no need to use the hammer period. It only took 20 minutes to assemble four bar stools. You must remove the black caps from the stands before attaching them to the chairs. These stools have 3 adjustment levels; which is great. We recommend sitting on it for the first time; Position yourself at the other end of the seat and move side to side and around 360 degrees. Then get out of the chair and adjust it to the highest level, then lean back on it and adjust it to the second low level and then to the next low level before stepping off it. These chairs are comfortable and beautiful. We bought them on sale and got what we expected. Don't lean forward or sit on the edge of the chair because that way I can see how someone could fall forward or fall if not using them at the bar. I would also not recommend using them on young children unless they are old enough to follow your advice and instructions. Maybe if they had a broader base; this provides extra stability and support as there is a slight wobble when you rotate a full lap and lean forward. Otherwise we are happy with our purchase.
