Like walking on swing boards shaped like shoes

I've been running in Zero Fall shoes for the past few years. My current pair of running shoes (Altras Kayenta which is now out of production) is running out so I was looking for a replacement. I saw tons of rave reviews for NB's Rebel v2 and decided to buy a pair to see what all the hype was about. normal territory. To say these shoes are soft is an understatement. They reminded me of what it was like to stand on a swing board during balance training, only in this case it was split into two separate shoe-shaped boards. While trying to decide if I would be comfortable with the midsole setup, I took a look at the rest of the shoe, starting with the upper, which fits my feet like a glove. I don't remember many shoes in recent years with as much heel support as these shoes, especially considering how light and not overly structured the upper is. And my goodness, these shoes are lightweight for the amount of cushioning they offer. If I were to wear these shoes to run fast in a straight line for hours, I would be spot on. Unfortunately, as I do most of my training at an easy pace and on surfaces with frequent turns and very different angles/inclinations, I don't think these are the right shoes for me and I will keep looking.
