Review on πŸ”₯ Taupe Fireplace Bumper Pad by KidKusion by Alejandro Lane

Exactly what we were looking for!

We actually bought this for our blind dog but our kids love playing pranks in this room and we wanted to protect them from banging their heads on the fireplace. We read all the reviews and kept debating if it was worth the money and if it really was an upgrade from our blue foam pool noodles that we used before. That Kidkusion bumper was worth every penny. The foam is dense and heavy, with a smooth surface. It looks like a baby foam booster. The corners fit perfectly. After reading the reviews, we unwrapped the foam core and put it under the boards for a few days to flatten and shrink. We trimmed it by adding an extra 1/8 inch as directed in the instructions and using a razor blade to keep the cut clean. Following the directions, we soaked in rubbing alcohol and used a small roll of double sided tape to fold and secure the seam. We secured the folded piece to the wall with some boards to hold everything together and left it overnight. The folded center piece will still shrink a bit, but we used blue (duck) rug tape to hold the seams together. along with the corners. The tape is strong, so we pressed the pieces together tightly. I didn't want to glue the bumper to our stone and risk the glue not coming off when I didn't want it anymore. It just sits on top of the chimney and is glued on the bottom, making it a one-piece piece that's going nowhere. This is exactly what we wanted and looks more professional and elegant than pool noodles! The color we bought was dark gray. Note: I have no toddlers trying to pull this off.
