Exactly what I was looking for
I have a * Sonos soundbar which only accepts optical inputs * an old Sony TV which in some cases only gives optical outputs * a FireTV 4K stick which only outputs HDMI That finally lets me, connect your Fire TV Stick to the soundbar. She works fine. I connected all my HDMI through this unit (via a switch) so the Tivo and Fire TV Stick now benefit from the soundbar. No additional outlets are required as the outlet I used for the Fire TV Stick is now connected to this converter and USB output. The converter powers the Fire TV Stick.
