Amplifier audio output was intermittent and humming on initial installation (RCA and fiber optic outputs from HDMI decoder). I played around with the Fire TV device's settings, from surround sound to stereo sound, and the buzz was gone - the sound was crisp and clear. My ultimate goal is to convert a standard Chromecast to Chromecast Audio. conceptually, it validates all fields. it offers what all HDMI audio splitters offer. It has the bonus of a USB port for power. Unfortunately, it makes a soft ringing (a sound similar to a phone ringing).
