This works great for extracting sound from my ROKU to send to my stereo echo pairs. I have a bunch of Stereo Paired Echos that sound fantastic and was trying to figure out how to use them with my ROKU to make it sound a lot better. You connect it to your ROKU (or Fire TV Stick, whatever) via the HDMI input connector, and then connect the HDMI output connector (cable included) to where you would normally connect to your TV. It splits the audio up so you can send it to a stereo amp and speakers, or a BT transmitter for use with BT headphones, or a setup like mine with Echo speakers. Sounds much better, really has bass. It was very easy and even came with a 5V 2A adapter for power and a 5V 1A output with cord (to power your ROKU, Fire TV etc.). It just works and I'm very happy with it. I had to make a stereo cable for the Echo inputs (1/8" stereo male to 2 1/8" male cables, one for the left channel, one for the right channel. You'll also need to go to the Alexa app to set it up the aux as input (maybe an input or an output, I think it's an output by default) It works exactly as I hoped it would and now my TV sounds great, not surround sound but much more true than my tv speakers Very happy with the price and performance and think you would be too.
