Review on πŸ”§ Effortless Brake Piston Removal with OTC 4799 Locking Pliers - A Must-Have Automotive Tool! by Lorenzo Wood

This remedy worked for me.

I like it. I use it on my Harley Street Glide 07: the tool arrived today with a decent delivery time. Upon arrival I thought the picture was a bit deceptive. This tool is smaller than I expected. But the picture was very accurate. I was dying to try this on my caliper pistons. They are small enough to be used on a Harley. I clamped them onto the first of eight pistons. After some trial and error, I took out the first piston. It was funny. The tool missed the piston once or twice. I pulled the tool out, tightened the screw on the tool about 1/2 turn, and pulled it back into the piston. No more slipping. After some back and forth rotation from Arnold Schwarzenegger, the piston came out. The other 7 followed pretty quickly. Let me say this. I didn't have compressed air to force these pistons out so I had to use pliers. I certainly wouldn't have been able to do this disassembly without this tool. I've read that some people have used a grease gun filled with grease to pressurize the caliper to make the pistons pop out. No thank you! I do NOT want any lube next to my brakes. "Just clean it well." Of course I'll take care of it. It was expensive for 15 minutes usage. But it was worth it. I've seen You Tubes where people use a vise to pull out a piston. The piston edges also looked like this. Someone said they're on par with Harbor Freight. Maybe they are. BUT. They did the job I asked them to do.
