So I bought this dog bed because our 6 week old puppy was too big for our previous dog's bed. The bed is about 20 inches from the actual sleeping area, with the edges adding another 4 inches. The bottom is made of non-slip material that keeps it in place on vinyl or laminate surfaces. It's really soft and keeps you warm. I've seen a number of articles asking how easy it is to clean. NO REMOVABLE COVER!. You have to wash the whole thing. I washed mine warm with a couple of towels to even out the load and dried them on high heat. It dries a bit because the material inside holds some water, but I didn't have to dry it separately. It is very good for my pup.
