Review on Acer VG271 Display: 1080P, 144Hz, DisplayHDR400, Built-In Speakers & More by Francis Chavez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It has some IPS Edge Glow but I still like it.

This is my first 144hz monitor and what a difference. It has that IPS edge glow and the response time could have been a bit better, but either way it's a HUGE upgrade over my previous old monitor from the mid 2000s. FreeSync works like a charm with my GTX 1070. A high frame rate of 144Hz at 1080p is just great. Simple smooth scrolling looks way better than 60Hz. It's blindingly bright, too. If you're looking for brightness, you've struck a gold mine. I have to reduce it to 30% so I don't go blind. heh Although the built-in speakers are terrible. Built-in speakers for TV/monitors are never good, but that might be the worst I've heard. They sound like budget laptop speakers from the '90s. My speaker system died so I had to rely on them for a while. God. Purchase external speakers/headphones. Despite the disadvantages, it's worth it. I will update my review if it dies or if anything changes.
