This was an extension cord between my gaming headset and my computer. Right after I couldn't get it back, there was a crackling buzz that sounded like feedback or a bad connection. I checked the female end of the cable (where my headset plugs in) and found that the connector's outer cover was loose. I found it was threaded so I just tightened it. However, this did not solve the problem. I suspect the damage was already done before I realized the lid had come loose. Since every cable they make is made the same, they may have an R&D issue to solve. This is a nice cable (comparable to the u-green brand except rubber cable instead of braid) due to the nice metal caps, so take away the metal caps and it's just another cheap rubber cable. The photo shows that there is nothing under this metal cap. down to the ground strap. As long as the lid is on it shouldn't be a problem. Then the problem must be internal. That tells me about bad production. Considering that plugging and unplugging my headset causes a lot of static electricity and a slight wiggle of the plug while it's plugged in can affect whether you hear a buzz or not, tells me that the pins in the plug are of poor quality and don not work properly.
