They looked strong, but when I took them out of the box, one glass bumped into the other and shattered one of the bowls. I've washed and dried them in the dishwasher and when I put the lids on each container to store them, one of the hinges came loose from the lid. Now I have 2 containers that are somehow broken. They were delivered 2 days ago and have not even been used so I can't tell you if they are airtight but they seem very fragile. I'm not impressed. For the price I thought they would be much better. Also, the free spice containers are pretty small. They are good for storing your small jewelry when traveling but not for anything else. I have attached 2 photos. One shows a broken tab on the lid. On the other hand, you can see where the glass cracked when unpacking the box. I would not recommend them nor would I buy them again.
