Although I purchased these a size larger than normal (40 vs 38) and the waist was a satisfactory fit. These shorts run tight in the thigh / knee area, at the bottom of the short's legs. Almost exactly the opposite of what you would expect from Cargo Shorts. Just a real funny fit with the thin cotton and tight legs.As a note; I do not have overly thick or fat legs, just a bit of a belly!
