Simple, simple solution!
We thought our tablet was dead. The charging port was obviously a design flaw from the start. BUT, this part works again! No soldering! The hardest part is opening the tablet again, thanks You Tube! After that, 2 tiny screws (small screwdriver included), some small plugs and you're done. Put everything back together and the battery can now be charged. To fix the design flaw, we ordered a $7 magnetic charger upgrade. Now my kids are less likely to break it again any time soon.
