I ordered extra large as I need it for a trip to the beach. It wasn't as big as I expected, but I managed. I tested it in 2 different scenarios. The pictures show an 8 hour shift if I leave my bag on my desk. 2 bottles of water froze before my shift and there was still a lot of ice in the bottle at the end of the day. I kept my lunch there. Scenario 2: 5 hours drive (round trip) and service in front of the church in 90 degree weather. I was out for about 3 hours but kept 2 frozen water bottles and 2 ice packs inside along with food and drinks. It melted more, of course, but it stayed pretty chilly all day. Catering for 1 adult and 3 school children I think wr can handle but more would be a stretch. I wish there was more but I am happy with the quality and finish. Overall good bag.
