Review on ZonLi Extra Large 10' X 9' Beach Blanket Sandproof For 5-10 Adults, Waterproof Quick Drying Picnic Mat With 6 Stakes & 4 Pockets (Grey) by Scott Pentapati

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Excellent windproof and waterproof. Pouches instead of corner pockets. Sewn in long, single rows

I took off a star because the sewing is not reinforced: single thread hem, even at the corners. I expect the parachute nylon is going to last, but the sewing for the seams, pouches, and stake loops will not hold up.I already have several "beach blankets" (I guess that markets better than packable, lightweight ground cloth or trap) all smaller than this one. I wanted something large enough where I could cleanly set up and put away a two person inflatable kayak, but light and packable enough to fit in the storage bag with the kayak. This ZonLi Beach Blanket has been perfect for that job and has been drafted for several others.I like the pouches attached to the edges instead of the usual triangular pockets at the corners. These pouches are better at holding sand (so also harder to empty) and easier to get out of the way. One advantage I've found for the corner pockets is they have a slightly larger opening for when I'm trying to use rocks to hold down blankets/tarps. None of the 6 pouches have a way to be closed. Their opening is along the edge of the blanket. Most of my other "beach blankets" are not as waterproof or windproof as the ZonLi. This is the protective layer my family prefers to put down on wet grass or damp ground when going to concerts in the park. The reason I include windproof is that feature was greatly appreciated when the temperature dropped by more than 30F and the wind came up. Instead of resting on the blanket, a group of us were wrapped up in it and more comfortable than the other diehards in the park.
