Review on πŸ‘– Unisex Trousers Workshop: A Comprehensive Multimedia Sewing Guide by Carrie Spencer

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Harnesses, Zippers and Braids! Not a single seam has gone unnoticed.

Where to start? Just order the book! I have read/watched at least a hundred books on sewing. Very few, if any, have much information about trousers apart from the basics, like the order of the seams or a few photos and diagrams of the zipper and belt. Even those with good reviews, like the singer's complete photo guide, are of little help. The two best fashion books, despite great recommendations and a good price, can't compete with David Page Coffin's masterpiece. Vogue sewing and fabric sewing guides and great books cannot replace this inexpensive gem. DVD-ROM works fine on my MacBook. I was able to download the contents of the DVD to my iPad. I couldn't use the video on my iPad, it's probably my fault and I'm working on freeing up some space. I have a small iPad and lots of medical textbooks on it. I was distracted. The full book on my iPad, the real book and all the videos viewable on my laptop! Wow! I feel like I owe PayPal DPC a few hundred dollars for the cost of a less informative class at our local fashion school. Patterns.ah yes there are bag patterns. There is NO trouser pattern here. So it's certainly unfair for a reviewer to leave a review because they don't know what they're buying. For 0.99 cents you get a pant pattern that shows you how to sew the seams and then coyly tries to show you other details in a few pictures. This book is for details. Very nice details. Lightning. BUTTON FLY oh my god! belt straps. Flying with shields. Extraordinary perfect belt loops! Excellent lining techniques. Ironing technology for a better fit. Flared hip pockets! Floating crotch protection! Fork seams (crotch bend) to save fabric. Conservation of the fork (reinforced curvature of the front crotch). Loops for fly protection and a loop at an inseam. Oh god, I'd better quit and get sewing instead of raving about this book/DVD/PDF extravaganza. ;-)
