I've been going for walks for 25 years. I walk between a mile and a half to three miles every day, depending on mood and weather. These were the first shoes I bought when I started and I wore them for the first 6 or 8 years until I decided to upgrade. Lastly I'm wearing Brooks Addiction Walkers, great shoes but expensive - about double what they cost. Two months ago I decided to return to these M7100s as I felt exceptionally economical. Brooks are great, but they're not twice as good as Rockports. Or so I thought. Big mistake. Rockport has changed hands several times over the past 30 years. From Independent to Reebok, to Adidas, to Berkshire-New Balance, to Crescent Capital and finally to Chapter 11 earlier this year (2018). The quality of the shoes didn't survive the journey. They are uncomfortable and very heavy on your feet. What a pity. They used to make a great product. I tried to improve the experience by adding soft socks and then Dr. School. They helped, but not enough. I'll stay with them for a few more weeks just to justify my money but then I'll be back in Brooks.
