Tuning complex

I live about 15 miles WSW of the battery in Manhattan. I want a small portable computer that can be placed on a shelf in the bathroom and can be heard clearly while showering. This product meets these requirements perfectly. The small speaker is surprisingly loud and clear. The only downside is the complexity of setting it up. I like listening to 770 WABC, one of the strongest signals in New York. If I move the disc slowly, the stations appear and stay as if they were on AFC fine tune for FM, even if they are before or after where they should be on the disc. For example, if I were approaching 770 from a higher frequency, I might - surprisingly - snap into 860 from Quebec or 810 from Albany and then skip 770 straight to 740 or a strong 710 without even hearing 770. If that happens, I've done it to work. Frequencies with very subtle twists until I finally settle into the desired 770. When I finally set it to receive, the sound quality and volume are exceptional for a radio of this size. It also pulls FM signals heavily. The problem is that the tiny dial moves over a very wide range of frequencies with so little movement. It's amazing that the radio can easily pick up so many distant stations. Ultimately, this radio does what I want, but some may find it difficult to set up.
