UPDATE: Clothes holes are now

***UPDATE*** I am updating this review after a year of use. I still love this product BUT I really think the bumps on it are wearing down some of my clothes. I think they probably grab and pull them sometimes when they get stuck in a piece of clothing. I am deducting a few stars due to the many holes I now have in many items. When I washed them there weren't any holes, but now there are. This has happened many times. If they replaced the ball with a smooth ball, this probably wouldn't have happened. Curious if anyone else had things that started cracking after a year of use. I have just ordered a magnetic laundry system and am expecting cleaning results to be the same or better than this green laundry ball. I used to alternate between using Borax, 7thGeneration, Biokleen, Vinegar, Baking Soda, or Soapnuts to clean clothes, depending on what was a good deal at the time. I only use it now and it does a great job washing clothes. I've even had shirts with yellowed collars that came out clean. I soaked them with the ball overnight but that's all I did. It also helped with "some" clothes I bought from thrift stores with scented detergents or perfumes on them. It must depend on the fabric, but I don't have to wash them nearly as often as I used to. In some cases, the smell came out after the first wash! Others had to be soaked overnight and sometimes washed a few more times. I've tried everything in the past to get rid of these odors, including soaking in borax and vinegar for a few days, and they were still just as smelly. I've even tried exposing them to the sun and wind for a few days and that doesn't usually do much for heavily scented garments. So I am very satisfied with this product. I had a pair of shorts that just wanted to keep the scent and after that the combination of this product and PureAyre helped a lot. I was concerned it had gone bad because the ball smelled strongly of the perfumed detergent from that garment, but it dissipated quickly (within a day or less; I didn't bother to check to see how how long it took to remove it). smell, probably an hour has passed) and now it has absolutely no smell. I have since bought another one to have on hand and would like the majority of the public to use this product or a similar product as it is so much healthier and safer for us and the environment. The "flavors" used by companies aren't even tested for their safety in humans, and with all of the emerging cancers and emerging autoimmune and other diseases, we can all be helped by reducing our toxic load. That's a great start! If you have Mcs or just want to save money or live healthier I recommend this product.
