So many places! Camping & Hiking themed

I bought this backpack for a trip to Japan. Not for hiking, but I'd rather carry everything comfortably with me than lug a suitcase with me every time I change hotels. Therefore, my review in terms of nature trips, hiking, camping or mountaineering is not definitive, but I will say that the description does not fit this product for my purposes. I was a little concerned that it wouldn't have enough compartments or that it wouldn't fit everything I needed, but I was relieved when I took it out of the box. A total of 10 compartments, plus 2 water pockets, a hydration bladder and a rain cover compartment. Two small zippered pockets on the waist brace allow access without removing the pack, and a zippered interior of the pocket allows you to either split the main compartment in half or expand it. Not to mention there are plenty of straps and loops so you can strap on extra gear if you're into camping and whatnot. The support feels great, the weight seems fairly evenly distributed across the waist, back and shoulders, and the airflow between the back and the bag is so refreshing. It seems the zippers could be done a little better but they will work fine for my use. The stitching and canvas quality also seem pretty good, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a bag like this priced at $150-$200. Also, it's not that important, but it's also pretty cute. The only downside was that the delivery was pretty bad - a huge dent in the corner, the box flaps weren't aligned, extra scotch that said 'repackaged'. Not a big deal as the backpack is by no means fragile, but worth mentioning nonetheless. All in all a $50 bargain. I'm sure I'll benefit a lot from it for years to come and I can't wait to try it!

Pros
  • Chest and waist straps - provide comfort and help distribute the weight of the bag
Cons
  • Too long to wait
