I gave them a C. I think if you were using them for light climbing (up and down) they would work great. The disadvantage of the construction is that the chains are connected with a rubber ring. Too much tension and the rubber breaks, the chain hangs and becomes unusable. I always recommend throwing in some zip ties in your gear and you'll be able to quickly and easily complete current repairs so you can get to work. For what I used them for, they couldn't handle stress. This is the second pair I have ordered. Tried another brand but they didn't last. Unfortunately I had to return this pair as well. I have a very steep lawn and use them when mowing by hand (side to side). I bought my last set in 2014. The last pair was held together with zip ties and I decided to replace them. Going sideways down a hill while mowing puts a different strain on them than they were designed for, so I'm glad (in hindsight) that the first pair lasted as long as they did. Subsequent replacements did NOT last. Ordered a replacement pair. Used once. One of the rubber connecting rings is broken as in the picture above. Customer service was fine as I had ordered another pair. Used a few spares once. Used once. break in the same place. I have returned them and asked for a refund as I am trying to work out my next option.
