I bought an older model monitor. I already need to set up a dual monitor display. The old monitor only had VGA ports so I bought this adapter to display my laptop on a second monitor (my laptop only has a HMDI port). The adapter requires you to install a driver in order for it to work, but installation was easy - they provide a CD for you to download the driver from, or you can download it online. After that the product worked great. Crisp images are the best you can expect from a VGA display port.
