Review on LabSoft LIMS by Matt Abba

Prior to my arrival the company had been operating with a paper lab notebook for decades. It had become increasingly difficult to access patient test results because the notebook contained little in the way of documentation. My team took a careful approach, assessing how best to approach each issue. We concluded that the most efficient and effective approach would be to implement a centralized laboratory information system (LIMS) and associated clinical applications to solve the challenges we faced. After working with the company to understand their current environment and formulate a plan, we began installing the LIMS and integrating it into their existing infrastructure. As we went along, we documented every step so that we could explain to the end user exactly how things worked and why we did them the way we did. We received a lot of positive feedback from the end user and even got a new contract to add additional functionality! Our goal was achieved, a centralized lab notebook replaced the paper one and gave the organization complete control over their data. LabSoft LIMS is easy to use and provides excellent reporting and analysis capabilities.
