Review on ๐Ÿงต Havel's Angled Machine Embroidery Scissors - Ultimate Companion for Precise Stitching by Linda Diaz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Boring at best.

I was so excited to get them. I have a Brother 1034D 3/4 thread serger and a Pfaff 4874 10 thread serger. I need tons of threads with many thread paths if they work for me. Not to mention I have 2 Janome sewing machines running at the same time. With all my gear, my workspace is pretty cramped. I often have little time and space to switch threads and little space to trim loose/stray threads. I thought Havel's ulti-mates were perfect. I was wrong. These damn things couldn't be more boring, and they couldn't cut a thread less efficiently than my old Scotch utility scissors in my litter box! I mean, what are these embroidery scissors if it takes a few snips to cut the thread?!? I read that Havel's is an American product. Either way, they're still made and assembled in Taiwan, and it shows. I'm pretty sure there's a pair of scissors of the same quality in the Walmart cart. Stars because their shape and size are phenomenal to get into hard-to-reach places. In addition, they are good from a cosmetic point of view. If you're looking for good scissors, Gingher has good curved embroidery scissors for a few bucks more. Don't believe the hype surrounding Havel's Ultimate Mates; This is complete Taiwanese garbage!

Pros
  • Kraft
Cons
  • Doubtful purchase for the elderly
