I ordered 4 brands of pillowcase (Pillowcase numbers 1-4 in the description below are from LEFT to RIGHT in my photo).#1. Gotcha Covered was definitely durable with a waterproof inner lining that looks like a thin vinyl tablecloth (looks shinier than the outer fabric in the photo). This brand is probably overkill for my purposes to prevent pillows from slowly discoloring). Stinked initially but improved greatly after being left open but had not completely gone after 3 days of inactivity. The body of the envelope seems deep enough to hold the pillow inside. 2/$53#2. Kings Allergy Store 2 / $23 seemed like a good allergen shield. The weave is tight but a little noisy, rustling on the pillowcase when touched but not so much on the pillow. A neat looking zipper is located at the end of the pillow's lying surface rather than the end but is hidden under the fabric seam. The zipper is strong and probably good at keeping out allergens. #3. MakeMake Organics 2 / $42 is probably my favorite quality smooth, almost satin fabric. Unfortunately, I accidentally ordered a black border on the outside, which I didn't want, but it looked pretty edgy. The fabric is quiet, the lengthways zipper seems to be well stitched and well tucked in the seam, so sleeping shouldn't be a problem. #4. Whisper Organics takes first place with MakeMake (#3 above). Also smooth, almost satin fabric of excellent quality. This is an envelope attachment, not my favorite type, but the depth of the fold of the envelope is obviously well planned as can be seen in the photo (a quarter placed on the seam for scaling). I love that it's an off-white color, so maybe it will hide the slow discoloration of the cushions over time? Price 2/$20.99 was better than 3 other brands, more expensive than cheaper non-organic but worth having and supporting organic. KATI'D
