Review on Boost Your Garden'S Yield With Kelp Bliss: Pure Organic Kelp Meal Fertilizer - 5 Lbs by Danny Kimble

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Product o.k. Didn't like packaging and price seems high for what you get.

People where I live harvest kelp with permits, and washed ashore on high bank with permissions. I wouldn't because the waters are, well, polluted. And who wants to mess with all the washing of the salts and the odors?!? This kelp product comes from a region with less pollution and that's one reason I selected it. It is dry and doesn't stink and according to one review I read is very low in salts.a good thing. It was a bit finer than I prefer, but I can live with that.I didn't like the packaging but many similar products do the same thing. It pinches the sides together at the top making it difficult to get a scoop in and out because you can't open the bag fully without ripping it, and the feature doesn't help with the zip close function which performs only mediocre. I personally would prefer they used cardboard boxes with a wax bag, both which would be recyclable as opposed to their plastic packaging.I scored it lower on value for money because even though it is a good product from a less polluted area, the cost is still higher than can be justified. It has shot up in cost as kelp has been 'discovered' by gardeners and horticulture folks.I would/will buy it again, just saying overall I can't give it an excellent rating because of the reasons I stated.

Pros
  • reliable product
Cons
  • Using Kelp Bliss can attract unwanted pests, such as slugs and snails, which can damage plants and reduce yields
