Before buying this monitor, I read a lot of reviews on different websites. The picture quality is impressive. The built-in speakers weren't a problem for me as I already had Logitech's excellent Z-2300 speakers. I read many, many reviews that the monitor does not come with a DVI cable, so I ordered one at the same time as my monitor. Well, the monitor came with a DVI cable. Perhaps this is something new that Viewsonic has turned to. So I would suggest waiting until your monitor arrives to see if it comes with a DVI cable. Although a complaint. My monitor is tilted slightly down on the left side. It was annoying enough that I had to tape some small felt pads to the bottom of the monitor to keep it level. Oh, and the bright blue LED on the front is a little annoying too. Too light. You might want to put a piece of tape on it or something like that. Modified on 07/23/07. I had to update my rating. Maybe I was too quick to give this monitor 5 stars. I have noticed that when the screen is black or there is a dark scene in a game or movie, the monitor becomes very cloudy. If you're unfamiliar with the term, it's common on LCD screens (monitors and TVs) where the monitor's backlight is visible and shouldn't make the screen's black level gray instead of black. I have a large cloudy area on the right side of the monitor and a smaller cloudy area on the left. Because of this, I put off buying an expensive LCD TV until the manufacturers figure out how to fix this problem. The picture is still great if you don't have to deal with this problem. It's not often that the screen is dark and I notice a haze, but of course I wouldn't buy a monitor if I could test it first. The problem of cloudiness depends on the monitor. You can get one that has no haze at all.
