Bought for melting crayons; We made heart shaped valentines for activities with my kids. They worked great. This is the 2nd time I have bought. They are also good for coloring. Other reviewers who say they only encounter one color of the mash overheat it. The main thing is to keep a close eye on them the moment they're done melting, and then remove them from the heat IMMEDIATELY. You can't cook them for long periods of time because yes, the pigments will melt and become liquid so they naturally mix (DUH). This will make all the colored pencils. Note: Brown melts slightly slower than other colors. So if you're using brown in a pattern, make a batch of crayons that have some brown in them, or your other oven-baked crayons (without brown) won't work either because you'll overheat and mix more than you probably want. Overall they worked great and I didn't have to spend an hour cleaning up crayons for the project! + in this mother's book!
