I bought this for my recurve bow. I haven't tried it on a compound bow yet. When it comes to jamming, it can depend on what's making the noise and how hard you're trying to eliminate it. The most important thing these buttons do is protect the cord from branches and other shrubs that might get caught on the cord. It works for that. I live in an area with lots of random branches and fast growing vines that love to stretch and tangle things. You seem particularly fond of me. This helps me avoid a lot of frustration. If you train in cleared areas, you may not need this at all. If you're just trying to make the arc quieter this can help, but there are other ways to achieve this. If you're clumsy in the woods, this might help.
