Review on ๐Ÿฎ YAKii Vintage 12-LED Metal Oil Lamp: Hurricane Lantern, Battery-Powered Decorations by Cyndi Peters

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Simply good. Poor light output.

As the 3 star rating suggests, "It's OK". Looks good as a traditional railroad kerosene lantern. The metal is very thin but will do if not abused. What I don't understand are the numerous reviews claiming that it gives off "beautiful" light. It's not like this. The manufacturer states that it emits 43 lumens. I have no way of measuring it, but I doubt it. There's enough light to see where you're going in complete darkness and nothing more. Of course, there is not enough light for reading. I bought it to have on hand in an emergency when we have a power outage (which happens here at least once a year, sometimes for several days) without having to worry about flammable gasoline in the house. It is suitable for this purpose, but not suitable for anything more. I'm hoping for decent battery life with two D batteries, but haven't run a discharge test. It's mainly decoration. It says it's not a toy, and it's not. It's not strong enough to last five minutes of child's play.

Pros
  • Brilliantly Done
Cons
  • Nothing here
