So it works like a cumbersomely wired remote shutter release, helping to extend battery life. I love that Neewer made an effort to include a battery grip, but unfortunately I feel like the form factor just doesn't work. Plus: you can use two batteries and pull the trigger in portrait mode on the grip. Disappointing: The trigger is on the front of the handle, not on top. This makes recordings less smooth when transitioning between landscape and portrait format. It spoils your ergonomics. In addition, there is no joystick, front or rear dial for any adjustments. So basically, it can be suitable for those who shoot in full auto mode and don't need to adjust the focus point.
