Non-technical review - this is a great camera!

BLACKED out to say I've decided to take a 3 week trip abroad. My camera was a superstar! I couldn't be happier. People, strangers, kept asking to see it. The pictures turned out great. The cruise ship officer asked if I needed it to "set up". I didn't, but I let him take a closer look at what he wanted. I was amazed at how interested people were. When I went back and put my photos online for friends and family, a great photographer asked me if he could use some of my photos because his photos of Jerusalem weren't as good as mine, since he was using a less advanced camera for his. These photos look really good. I couldn't wish for anything better than being the best photographer of course. Ruins in Turkey and Athens, across Israel and in the pink rock city of Petra in Jordan, where I was being chased on a bus by a madman, or "maniac" as I called him at the time. We're lucky to have survived, my camera and I. We both don't seem exhausted. I highly recommend this camera as it stands up to hard, rough handling without flickering. Earlier, before the trip, I wrote: I leave the technical assessments to others who know what they are talking about. I appreciate and respect their experience. All I can tell you in my review is that I love my new camera! It's a step up from point-and-shoot, but it doesn't require you to make photography an obsession or even a serious hobby. Most people who want a really good camera but don't want to dedicate their life to photography will probably find this model a good choice. It takes great pictures without a lot of fuss or training. Many years ago I studied photography and had some experience, if not knowledge. Then I decided I just needed the point and click mode for a while. This time I wanted to go a step further than point and click, but right now I really don't feel the need to get too creative. This model can do a lot more than I will ever do with it. While it would be fun to just get one of these buttons to always carry around in my purse, my son told me I'd make love with him for a minute and a half, so I settled on this one. I'm so glad I did. Nikon is my favorite camera brand and I was not disappointed. The quality of the camera is excellent and the instructions are clear if you follow them step by step, not that I ever did. I bought this camera, photo printer, and other electronics at the same time and was inundated with manuals, how-to guides, etc. That's because by nature I have to do too much at once. Just follow step by step and I think you will love this camera even if you are an electronics geek like me. Now I'm taking you back to the technical experts who will give you real advice to use when making a purchase.
