Prone to failure, appallingly poor customer service from GE

I bought this oven and it failed within the first year. I waited 6 weeks for a GE authorized repair company to give it back to me and then I delivered some of these by driving an hour one way to save a few days. In the end, I insisted that GE give me a new microwave oven. This device also failed after less than a year. Wait another 6 weeks until one of the parts is discontinued. They ordered 12 extra parts (!) to fix the device. And now he's missing AGAIN for the third time in less than 2.5 years. In those 2.5 years we lived 4 months without a microwave. I could understand getting a lemon with the first block, but I couldn't do both. I will never buy a GE product again. They have a well deserved reputation for having the worst customer service in the business. Search the internet for BBB and other review sites and you will see what I mean. I took an old Emerson desktop microwave out of the shed and cleaned it. Despite a few rust spots and 20 years, you know what? It works! Because it's not a bitch, a GE machine. I'm the last person to ever say that we need some kind of government intervention, but offering only a 1 year warranty on devices should be illegal. These things should not be disposable. It fills up our landfills when food isn't stored the way it used to be.
