Don't waste your money

Finally returned the collar. It was so contradictory that it surprised me because the reviews were overwhelmingly positive. The timeout feature, which I thought would be a great protection, finally pissed me off. The collar turned itself off after so many prompts. Very annoying when you strive for consistency in training. You cannot disable or change this setting to make the collar work longer before the timeout expires. When our pup was in a state of whining, he finished it in about 2 minutes (this may be an overestimate). Then he could continue whining without a break until the collar worked again. I set the collar to maximum sensitivity because our pup is making that horrible whine that is similar to barking, but not quite at that level. Even at maximum sensitivity, the collar detected this behavior about half the time. The 3am whining lasted almost 45 minutes without collar correction. However, if he squeaked the toy, jumped on the floor, or shook his head, it worked. The maximum shock setting didn't even bother him. We knew the collar worked because I tested it on myself and at times it got so irritated that it stopped and scratched my neck. All in all I don't know how this collar can be reliable/effective if there is no consistency. I sent the collar back after 2 days and ordered a collar with more vibration and shock power that comes with a remote control.

Pros
  • Very good quality
Cons
  • Useless features
