So close to perfection

Let me start by saying that I'm an amateur photographer who enjoys photographing nature and animals. does it matter? Yes! I think there are items in photography equipment that should suit your needs and mine are not at all like that of a portrait photographer. I'm outside in different weather conditions, I'm moving. What I like: Waterproof coating. I've never understood why camera bag manufacturers skip this. Anyone hauling expensive gear and getting caught in a downpour a mile from their car can tell you this is important. This bag has a retractable element on the bottom which is a waterproof cover. Haven't used it yet, but it's reassuring to know it's there and fits snugly in my pocket for the best waterproofing. Storage: I've never had so many storage options for my photo gear and other items! I can take most of my lenses, cameras, camera gear like lens cleaners, memory cards and my laptop if I want. I can also pack winter items like rain pants, hats, gloves and there is STILL room! There are large and small pockets making it useful for various items. The side pocket for a water bottle is large and I didn't use the tripod option but if I buy a tripod I think it will work well no matter the size as the cables are adjustable. It looks like an ordinary backpack: I don't want to advertise that I have a camera. This bag doesn't give the impression that I'm carrying a lot of expensive gear, but more like a backpacker who likes to repack for a short hike. Hey, I'd rather people think I'm weird than think they can blow my mind and make a few bucks! If I had attached a tripod now, maybe it would be a different story. Padding: This camera seems to come with good padding to protect your gear with plenty of velcro straps to keep things snug and secure for your a given size gear. This bag is so close to perfection but there are improvements to make it what I would like to see: Women's size. It's clearly a man's bag. The fit is based on the male body. My main harnesses are stretched almost to the limit. I worry that when summer comes and my winter coat is off, the bag will be too loose to be comfortable. And let's just say that the extra top straps don't work for those who don't have a flat chest. Even in the highest and lowest version, they do not work on the female breast. This renders the waist straps useless as they will only lift and loosen the already loosened main straps at the top. If a women's frame is ever made please let me know! A connection that allows me NOT to put my bag down to get my camera: as I said, I'm a wildlife photographer. There are two main reasons why I don't drop the bag. Firstly, the more movements I make and the longer it takes to get my camera out, the more likely my deer will turn its tail and run (or fly) away. There's nothing worse than missing the perfect shot. Second, who wants to shove their camera bag in the snow or mud? Seriously, I don't think many people will put their hands up and say I like taking out my camera bag to take a picture. Currently I remove my right hand, open the side panel and take out the camera, but with some effort. Again, this may be due to the fact that I'm a woman and don't have that broad shoulders, so the camera bag starts slipping almost immediately. My focus is on photographing the animal, not trying to pick up the bag while holding the camera in one hand. Raising the shoulder when taking photos helps hold the bag but makes holding the camera a little less easy and hurts when I'm shooting for more than a few seconds. If I reseal the bag and put it on my back, I could lose my photographic moments and possibly again scare off any wildlife I'm trying to photograph. I had a Tamrac shoulder bag which I really liked. I could flip it back to front and just pull the camera out. Lens changes were easier with this bag as they were right there and didn't have to lower the bag. The only reason I stopped using this bag is because I upgraded my photo gear and found that the weight of the strap just below my shoulders at the front of my chest was now too much. I slowed down and was out of breath. However, the fact that I was able to easily operate the camera without much fuss makes it a win over this bag, which has many better features. Just a strap to hold the bag to the side while taking pictures would make this the perfect bag.* Please note: I was told I would receive a $3 credit for an honest review. This has not affected my opinion of the bag. It would cost a lot more than $3 to convince me when I paid $110 for it.
