I bought this guard to keep my Doberman Pinscher separate from her sister and to minimize feeding fights. It arrived well packaged with all the necessary parts as advertised. This is a decent quality durable gate for medium loads. My only complaint is that the latch that keeps the gate closed at the top has a pin that fits into the sliding lid and the pin isn't strong enough for my liking. Basically, the pin is short and won't fit into the latch mechanism unless you stretch the gate's threaded adjustment rods as far as possible, which forces the tops of the gate's uprights closer together. Even after that, I would have preferred a stronger lock, but then I worry about the strength of an 80-pound Doberman hitting the gate. For toddlers or small dogs, a pin and latch are no problem. The gate opens fully in both directions and has a well-functioning hold-open function. So far the gate has performed well and looked decent.
