They're by no means as bright as the brand's warning lights, but I certainly feel more comfortable working outside the car. The lighting may not be as bright, but the pattern helps draw attention. Remember, it's not about looking good; it's about being SEEN. I currently have a grill light, but I'm concerned that the flashing isn't above eye level. This light does what rescuers on the ground need. I didn't use suction cups; The design didn't suit my expedition, but I disassembled the visor fasteners, put metal plates on top and tightened them. Didn't even require drilling and it's been a few months since they were fitted with no looseness. With these lights, make sure the Fresnel lens diffuses the output rather than blocking it. Since only one watt is generated per LED, every lumen is crucial. I just wish future designs included more advanced LED chips or two LEDs per lens. Electronics really don't cost that much. I trimmed the switch and replaced it with a different style and the light goes on and off but the pattern selector no longer works - my fault. When purchasing such items abroad, be sure to check all polarities to ensure all functions work when changing the switch. I haven't bothered to correct my mistake, but I think it's the polarity between ground and positive.
