Dropped even with the right adhesive backing
I pre-cleaned the wall and waited for it to dry then waited 24 hours before adding the beacon. This was done in a centrally air conditioned room so heat was not an issue. The first fell in 2 weeks. The other lasted a few months. Unacceptable. A beacon fell to the ground 7 to 8 feet off the ground. I'm sure they work fine when drilled into the wall but that's not the use case I'm looking for so I bought adhesive mounts.
